WHAT I THINK THE SONG IS ABOUT:

The song "Life Goes On" by No Motiv reflects themes of resilience and the inevitability of moving forward despite life's challenges. The lyrics convey a sense of struggle and the emotional weight that comes with facing difficulties, yet they also emphasize the importance of perseverance

MY THOUGHTS ON NO MOTIV:

No Motiv formed as a band back in 1995, hailing from Oxnard, California. Their debut album, 1996's "Cynical" was released through Edge Records. It was not a very polished album. The band came into conflict with Edge Records when the label released the 1998 album "Scarred" against the band's will. This album was mostly a compilation of 7" songs and other rarities. No Motiv would sign a deal with Vagrant Records in 1999 and release the album "And The Sadness Prevails". This album was a much better recording and gave more of a sample of what the band's sound would become. In 2001, they released "Diagram For Healing". To me, this is the band's most complete album. Solid from the first track to the last. The band's most recent full length would be 2004's "Daylight Breaking". This album reached #36 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart, thanks in part to the single "Into The Darkness". No Motiv's most recent release was the 7" single "Broken And Burned/Life Goes On" which came out in 2019. No Motiv was kind of an underground band. I got into these guys in 1999 with their "And The Sadness Prevails" album. While I dug that album, 2001's "Diagram For Healing" is my favorite album by the band. It's such an underrated record and every time I listen to it, I just realize again and again that it's a great album! No Motiv really hasn't done much since 2014. They've played a few shows here and there. They released a 20th anniversary version of "And The Sadness Prevails" in 2019 but that's about it. The band members all remain close and they never rule out anything when it comes to the band but as of now, it's pretty quiet on the No Motiv front.
